OK I am now the proud owner of a 82 280ZX turbo. Its been out in the weather(open) for a couple years and needs a complete overhaul. Im currently stripping it down to go to the body shop. Its going to get a fresh coat of the mercedes SL silver with the blue over the hood and roof being redone in a candy blue
(after I figure out some fender flares for some real amount of rubber)should be very sharp. After that all new weather stripping and such. I doubt I will restore it to nissan specs it will most likely be custom with out becoming rice.
The engine has given me serious thougth since I will have it in the garage for the winter ((all 6 weeks of it here in texas) since I wont have time to really do anything to the car till after the holidays) I had the crazy thought of swapping the RB26 out of a skyline into the Z. I know people do V8 swaps. I personally know of 2 people here that have. One small block 400 and one LS1 and they are crazy fast cars. But I would like something a little differnt.
Anyone have any other ideas and suggestions?
