Question b20/vtec reving problems pr3 ecu

I have B20/vtec and yeah it starts and revs to 2500 but just sits there and bounces from 2200 to 2500.. like hiting rev limiter... I also have a venom intake so i don't have a EAC anymore could that be the problem??? Also when i hit the gas it bogs the revs after i let off the gas??? what do you think...

Do you have a stock manifold laying around that you could put on there and put the EAC(IACV maybe?) on and see if that is your problem?

The ecu is getting misinformation or no information from onme or more sensors, so check every wirring connection and make sure everything is making good contact and make sure everything is connected to the proper location. Then see what happens.
And the car will not idle right until it is warmed up b/c of the IAC being removed, but it should not cause this unless you don't have the sensor plugged in at all, try pluggin it in and see what happens. It may be that the ecu is not getting a response from the IAC and then goes into limp mode where it loads the motor up with fuel and only lets you rev to a set rpm.

What is the ouput voltage on the TPS sensor itself? I think that is should b2 .5(closed) and 4.5 (at WOT), dont quote me on that though.

So basically your ecu sees no O2 sensor?

Man plug your O2 sensor in the ecu will go into limp mode if it does not get a readng from the O2 sensor and it will run way rich and not rev past a certain rom. That is probably your biggest problem then reset the ecu and try it again

I had the o2 pluged in at one time and it was doing the same when it was unpluged, it will run closed loop with it umpluged. because its OBD_0 and i will check the TPS in the morning and tell you what it says..

Re: b20/vtec reving problems pr3 ecu

When I blew my head gasket in my b16a with a gsr head, it constantly pressurized the water/coolant system with steam/air. This was apparently the cause of my surging idle problem. It seems a lot of ppl have this problem with honda's.

A mechanic can detect a blown head gasket by simply adding a chemical to your coolant that turns a color if carbon monoxide is present in it. Some places will probably do this free, especially if you indicate you might have them fix it.

first of all i don't have the iac conected to any water lines or the intake because i have a Venom intake, and second the head gasket isn't blown because the engine has Zero miles on it, everything is brand new.., But thank you for your idea... Keep them comming will figure this problem out.
