But of course the motor is blown. So can i put in the 89-93(dont know if those are right years) turbo motor or should i just replace it with the same motor. I dont know jack shit about mazdas, im more of a honda/acura kinda guy. PLEASE SOMEONE GIVE ME SOME INPUT ON OLDER RX7'S. I really wanna get this car running cause its already got sum stuff dont to it like headers, exaust, and rims and a new clutch, plugs, and plug wires that are still in the box.

i belive the 13b will work without TOO much extra work, but i would stick with the 12a for now. Simple carburated N/A rotary power! rx7club.com can help more. check out their faqs.

What kind of price are you talking about? If the price difference between it and something like an '85 isn't that big, pass on the '83. From what I've heard the conversion from the 12A engine to the 13B isn't too difficult, but it is time consuming.

you'll need a 13b oil pan, front engine mount, front engine cover, TII transmission, bigger radiator, longer oil lines, ecu or some sort of way to control the engine, different down pipe, etc... along with the engine.
Thats for the TII engine, I wouldnt even bother with the REW. I bet you could do it all for under $2,000, but thats if you know what your doing. |
