I have yet to hear of any problems about the 02 civic Si.

I got a 02 civic EX because I didn't like the egg shape of the new Si. Looked too station wagon like for me. It wasn't important enough for me to spend $3000-$4000 more to get a station wagon that gets 30-40 more horsepower.

Also, I didn't feel totally comfortable with the stick shift.

After some modifications, mine will be able to go faster than that.

Either way, Civics are always strong cars with long lives.

Good Luck

The new si's are ugly stock but when there slammed and have 17 or 18 inch rims on them they come out of there shell.......I think there ugly as hell but as soon as u put two mods to the exterior they look pretty nice.....see everyone is just judging them by seeing them stock but not hooked up with rims and a kit and so forth......I like hatches shit i have a hatch but i by far think the year that i have was the best hatch they made for civics!!

Yeah they're nice but I too have beaten one and also beat a 00 Si. They are great cars overall but don't be too surprised that the basic hybrid is still faster. I'd say get it.

Yeah, I can't deny it, they look like ass, when they are stock. I thought the same thing forever before I bought one..in fact I was one of those that would bash on anyone that bought one now look at me

oh kidrocket....I guess it depends on who you race...and who I race I've beaten two 99-00 Si's with ihe, one had some heavy ass 17" motegi rims (that didn't help him, duh), the other was stock looking, but I was told by the person driving it told me he had ihe....I beat another, not sure of what it had, except an exhaust......I think these cars take a lot of getting used to when launching and shifting...the tach is way off, so many of us 02 Si drivers shift too soon. Mine is 500 off, I found that out when I was at the dyno, the guy said it read about 7500rpm, but of course it was 6800 according to the dyno. Just an example...I only got a 16.3 at the track when I first had my si...then added a short ram and hit a 15.7...then the hp header giving me the 15.5...even though some I've seen still get a 15.5 totally stock...I obviously have a little more practice due for me.

one of the PHATTEST hatches i have ever seen was an 02 Si black exterior, racing hart c2 evo 17"s, dropped right on the wheels with an exhaust. dont know what it was but it looked sooooo phat. dont like the shape too much myself but that one looked awesome. id definitely do it too if i had the chance. and im sure that with the k20 it could reach some high hp levels once they get some more aftermarket out for it.

I've seen the same...his name is civicracer...he's been around for a while...he's had lots of other imports...acura/civics.
His 02 si had i/h/e also and hit a 14.9...it's all driver when it comes down to it. Unfortunetly for him, he wrecked his car once again....poor guy.
