Question remote starter wiring

My '98 cav, has the gm passlock 1, and I am trying to put a remote start/alarm/keyless entry into it. Can I bypass the passlock 1 with my relay and a resistor with ta value equal to that obtained from the yellow and black wire. Also, the power locks no longer work at all, is this part of the anti-theft system? Possibly locked up?

NOPE AND NOPE

You need to use something like DEI #555l to get past the Passlock. It is way harder to bypass than the "chip" keys they use to have. Your doorlocks have something else going on. You will want to verify that the wiring in the door is not bad or have a short somewhere.

Re: remote starter wiring

Hey Skorpion, I have a 96 cav and I tried to install an Omega starter. It will only start about 8 times and then it will only start randomly after that. Where you able to figure out you 98. If so maybe you could help me out.

you can jump your resistor from the yellow decoder side of the passlock to the black to see if your install works just cut the yellow wire and use the side going under the dash and connect the resistor from this wire to the black and it will disable the passlock but the door locks idunno you might check the fuse did you try to hook up the keyless part of the remote start if so make sure you are using the proper polarity i belive it should be a positive five wire cut on that car so check that out
