rear speaker wiring??
I need to rewire my rear speakers due to them grounding out somewhere in the wiring. The problem is that I can not find the right colors in the back of the Oe cd/am/fm w/equilizers that are connected to my speakers.
does anyone have any information on which wires in the back of the stereo controls what. like maybe a picture or diagram. or just telling me which colors to replace. Thanks alot for any help. After looking at it closer do the speaker wires go to the back of the radio or do they connect into a box on the right bottom side of the dash?

What year do you have? If its a 4 door 98 GTP the colors will be brown and dark blue. If this is not your year go to a pro shop that installs stereos and they will be able to print up a paper telling you the colors for everything on your stereo

If i were you i would just go buy a small amp for highs and run it to RCA's on the back of your deck if you dont have RCA's on the back of your deck you will need to get your self a new CD Deck that will have RCA's then power the rear speakers with the amp It would work great

it is a 97 grand prix gt 4 door.
I tried to trace the wires thought I found them then cut them only to find out there are 2 wires with the same color. I am an idiot for even trying to do this myself I suck at electrical stuff. I guess I will have to pay the 70 bucks to rewire the back speakers and then the 300 for the new deck and install. thanks for your help
