Crx giving problems
Wats goin on every1...I recently put a sohc zc in my crx an converted to stick...the car runs...real nice..only problem..its burning oil like crazy...HELP!..an my other problem..I put in a si tranny...When I shift into 2nd gear..it makes this sound..kinda like when the clutch is not all the way down..I dunno what it is cauz I press it all the way down...Couple friends of mine drove it an had the same problem..I might try to change the tranny fluid...but as for the oil..I need to kno the causes of that...oh yea..this might help..the exhaust blows out blue smoke..I need to kno all the things I can do to kinda sorta stop it from burning so much...thanx alot

Well if it burns oil then that means oil could be leaking, getting past the rings or getting past the valve seals. Have a cylinder leakage test done and they should tell you.
Regarding the clutch sound is it a grinding or whining? It could be that the clutch cable is out of adjustment. Lastly, I think that the blue smoke means that it is running rich, too much fuel. Have you done anything to the fuel system, bigger pump or fuel pressure regulator? |

I got a deal on a complete d16z6 head so Im thinkin about it..100 bucks!...an oh yea..the car does have a FPR..but until I get the head..is there any other way to control the oil burning..? additives maybe?..thanx alot

I am not too sure about the dseries frank motors, but if it will work then hell yea. If it is indeed the valve seals, then a head swap might solve that problem. Get a leak test first that way if it is the rings and if you do swap heads , you might be able to get new rings put in it while you got he head off. Just a thought. A leak down test should not be too much. Hell if you were close to me I'd do it for free.
What is the fuel pressure set at? You might try Engine Restorer, I hear good things about it. I have not used it personally though. |
