Question Question about Integra Type-R front end (Non JDM)

Is the front end of a 2000/2001 Type-R a 1 piece? And does it bolt on to a 2000 GS-R? I was at the Acura dealership the other day and they were still showing it to be the two piece design (Bumper and Lip), but if you look at the pics, they seem to be completely different!

Old

New

I need to replace my GS-R front end one of these days (I have an imperfection :o ) and because I am not really into the whole wild kit scene, I was thinking the Type-R front may do me just fine. I think it would look very clean with some modest sides and a modest rear. What do you all think?

the lip is a bolt-on, not a one-piece bumper.

So, let me get this straight. The Type-R bumper is the exact same as mine, it is just that it has an additional lip bolted on to it? So if I wanted to replace my bumper (the damage is near the passenger headlight) I would have to buy my same bumper again and then the lip?

yes, that's what u have to do.

And the price of it will be almost same as u buying a new aftermarket front bumper or maybe a whole body kit.

How bad is the damage? Can't u fix it?

My cousin did that conversion.... I thought it was a 1 piece front bar? He also had to do a headlight conversion, because he had the earlier 3rd gen teg (93).

Sorry...don't want to get you confused....his teg is one of the first batches of 3rd gen here...which came in 93 not the LS. And the 93 - 96 tegs have a slightly different front bar here. the 97 onwards more slanted...similar to the Type R....so for the conversion, he had to swap the headlights as well, because they are slightly different size.

any year integra in the US from 98+ had the slanted headlight look. but if all you want is just the ITR look, then just get the front lip. i personally like the 97 ITR look better.

Ebay. I have found them on Ebay for $99 before. But I don't think they were OEM

legit oem type r parts an "cheap" don't exactly go hand in hand.

personally, i'd jus cough up the extra change for legit parts, even tho MOST of the time it'll look pretty much the same to an untrained eye.

Lookin at those pics, I do like the pre97s better. Maybe I don't need to do the 98 up. My bumper also has an imperfection, so we'll see.
