XJ220 Build Up (pics)

This post is going to chronicle the build up of the Jaguar XJ220, (Tamiya)

I started out by building the egine... The hardest part of the accurate replica stock build up is refference materials. Some people on this forum were able to help me to gather up some materials and photos of number 168 of the production vehicle.

The engine went from scatered peices like these:

to scratchbuilt and plumbed engine, ready for install...

Sprayed the body today.. gloss aluminum with 6 coats of clear... need to let it dry a little and polish..

I haev one questions though.. does anyone have any links to the interior lay out of the real car? What is the seat belt layout??

got a little more work done today....

Body painted:




Brakes.. need more work, paint detail, rotor weathering and brake line...


Wheels were sprayed with light gunmetal.

Progress so far... Rubbed out the body to a nice shine:






and finished the brakes prep compelte with brake lines:

That big cat is coming along great. I'm planning to build an XJ220C Le Mans car sometime, so am very interested in how everything goes together for you. The engine looks superb.
