Can anyone provide some info on how to program the remote for my 97 Camry LE. I don't even know if the car has the remote system installed since i bought it from a guy. The remote came with it but it does not work. I even changed the battery. I have read other threads where it tells how to program - Does someone know how to program for a 97 Camry?
It's a remote with 3 buttons on the front - LOCK, UNLOCK and TRUNK, and one PANIC button on the back. |

Re: Remote Keyless Programming - 97 Camry
I have a 99 and when I purchased a new set of keyless entry remotes for mine, they had to be programmed, and I'm almost sure that there is no other alternative than to take it to the dealership and have them program it to the specs of your V.I.P. system, although it may be different if you have a different model of V.I.P. installed on your vehicle.
I suppose it could be done if you don't have the immobilizer setup on yours, although most do, and mine did, and the only way to get it done was to take it to the dealer. Although, if you do find out anything else about programming a new remote and everything, let me know. |
