Unhappy Heating up in motorway Golf 93 1.4

Hi
It seems a bit funny to me, I've got a gulf 1993 1.4 , and when drive it in the city the temprature is always about 90, But when I drive in motorways after few miles the termprature goes to 100-105 and stays there ( not over heating). the temprature suppose to go down because of more air blow at radiator but it doesnt. Has any body got any idea what can be the problem? Thank for you help in advance
