GTA: Digital Dash: Good or bad?

I've heard many people talk about them like they are the thing to have and that if you don't have one you are jus tmissing out..others say they suck.

From pictures, it kinda looks like it would be hard to read and get used to...I guess im just used to a speedomiter instead of a digital reading....

Can you get used to it quickly?

Comments on it?

Also i would like to learn more on the "system check" button push feature.

Thanks.

Is it reliable? What if im looking for a 1988 GTA...will it still work and be reliable for years to come?

What happens if it stops working? There is no warranty, so can you get it fixed and how much if so?

Every FS GTA with digi dash i see says "and it actually WORKS" which kinda scares me..how reliable and cool are these things? how easy are they to read, etc.

Thanks!

Reliable and 3rd gen F-body are two words that don't go together . I don't know about the digital guages but I wouldn't get them. Personally I think the regular guages look better in the car, the digital aren't anything special they don't pop out onto the windshield like you'd see in a Vette or a Bonneville.

Well, i know its a totally different car but my mom had a lincoln mark VII and it came with a digital dash and that equaled one word, PROBLEMS, it was fine for a while, but when it goes out.... it goes completely out! it started flashing its own numbers for everything from gas to speed and soon she couldnt tell how fast she was going (which equaled speding tickets) She would be sitting still in the car with it in park, and her speedometer would say she was going 80 mph, then 90, then 25.........
My opinion, keep the standard dash and leave all the non working digital crap to FORD!

If I were you, I'd stay away from the digital dashs in the T/As , the analog gauges look better anyways.

digital gauges are all bad,
Ive seen them in GTA's never heard of compaints as to them going bad, lights will come and go in them just like any other gauge, all really depends Id say stay away from them, its just another weak link.
