Turbo Possible on a D15B7?

Alright, Yeah I know this is my first post and all, but I am by no means a poser rice boy wannabe. Anyhoo, I’ve got a 93 Honda Civic DX coupe, D15B7 Block. I’ve had this crazy brain storm in my head to try turboing this motor. I know the motor is crap, and the rods are weak, but it’s the best I’ve got right now. (H22 swap for future plans) I am wondering if I can pull parts together off e-bay and junkyards and custom set up a system. What would be a good turbo unit to use if I did this? I’ve heard you can use Mitsubishi Eclipse ones, which would be easy to get a hold of. Also what kinda of boost can this thing take? 7psi? or is that too high. Any help is appreciated.

everyone says the rods are weak....that doesnt mean it wont hold for a while. they say our rods are weak.....bah ive been holding up for a while with 180 whp on tap plus the extra 75 on the bottle. right now im in the works finishing up my turbo build consisting of a t28 with an a/r .80 and .63. as far as turbo stuff... check out www.homemadeturbo.com they do lots of turbo builds from different parts for the d series engines.

Re: Turbo Possible on a D15B7?

Thanks Guys, Homemadeturbo's has alot of info. I still wondering though, my car has 122,000. Whats a turbo going to be doing to a motor with this age / wear and tear on it, how much longer will it last if I do turbo? Also is my clutch going to hold up?

Is anyone running larger injectors? I'm just wondering what your fuel economy is. Right now I'm getting 40mpg beating the snot out of mine and I think thats really dang good.

One last thing - how do you read "180 whp" as dirty91crx used? I know, stuped question, but I'm just getting into this turbo stuff.
