When did everyone learn to drive stick?

^^^ Just like the topic says. I learned about a year ago when I was about 15 and a half. The reason Im asking is because it seems like only about 10-15% of the people at my highschool can drive stick, so Im jw when everyone else learned.

After I wreaked my 87 Maxima (auto), My dad offered to teach me to drive a manual so i can buy his car. MAY 2002. 1993 Honda Civic EX, which i had ever since.

well lets see here im 28 now and i learned how to drive a stick when i was 15 and that was the first thing i learned on, it was a damn 1982 datsun 4 wheel drive king-cab, so i have been driving a stick for 13 years now and i wouldnt trade a stick for anything, dont get me wrong autos are ok for long drives but all in all the stick is better...

learned to drive a manual tranny when i was 15 in an 88 prelude si a geo tracker (mom's car ) an a toyota pickup.

Learned on my wife's (then g/f's) 89 Nissan Pulsar NX. She taught me.

Learned the basics on a Yamaha FZR 600 then got my Civic and figured it out myself.

i learned when i was 14 in a crx. than my mom wrecked it it wass gonna be mine when i turned 16.

I was 14 in my dads toyota deisel pickup that thing still runs today with over 320000 miles on it

I would have been 15 the first time, in my grandpa's 1989 Jeep TJ the most beasty sounding I-6 out there for some reason. Never really caught on until later that fall (Picked up learner's permit)

As for that percentage you noticed 99civic03, same at my schoool except it's about 10% for my grade (150 students) and maybe the same for the rest of the school. It's pretty bad.

I learned when i was 13, on a 92 Accord, just driving around the neighborhood. Took awhile to get it, but it all of a sudden just clicked, and I love stick. After giving the 92 to a family member, I received a 93 SE (auto) when i was 15. I drove that for a year, and now im back into a manual (6-Spd!), and i love it.

When my dad bought my first car I told him to make sure that it is a 5-speed that way if I don't drive a stick then I don't drive. I made myself learn. All the cars at our house was a 5-speed.
