keep the motor and mod it. i have destroyed many cars with my b16a coupe including my friend's 03 cl type s(tiptronic),accord v6 coupe, 98 coupe with gsr(supposedly fastest civic in the area and he has 18's, molded body kit, custom leather interior and a whole bunch of other bullshit and i beat him by like 3-4 cars with a fucked up clutch),sentra ser(new ones), 02 vr6, and many others. so far out of all the races i only lost to a white civic hb with gsr and mods, red civic hb w/gsr and mods, white civic hb w/ls, gsr tranny and mods, and integra type r. i hate those hatchbacks.

If you'll swap it, can you send that engine over my way? I'll gladly take it off your hands.

Seriously, no need to have a swap with it. Just mod it, and maybe even go turbo.

Are you crazy? Why would you spend all that money to get a GSR engine for hardly any power gains... I mean the difference between yours and a GSR could almost be settled with an intake. Do the i/h/e etc. and you'll really like it. Make sure you get quality parts though, otherwise it will feel and sound like crap making you not even want to drive the thing.

get a 4-1 header, you'll feel it pull stronger above 4k rpms through vtec. 4-2-1 gives a slight pull throughout the powerband, but those are only good for non-vtec cars.

I have an apexi n1 and it sounds great. Go take a gander at the "exhaust" post in the Let's Get Technical forum. You should buy a Greddy EVO for your 98, but that's just my opinion. They fit like stock, look great, and sound even better.

whoops, replying to too many posts at a time, got a bit confused
Personally I like the ones that look stock and have the larger tip. The muffler will be less restrictive and no, it won't sound like stock. The muffler's exterior will look the same but they have a less-restrictive, more straight-through design, and will be louder. I've seen Tanabe's that look like this on a 92-95 Civic and they sound alright
