92Corsica 3.1L Hard starting.....183k miles

Cranks for bout 5 secs before firing up, then revs way up for another 5 secs before idling down. Does the same thing warm or cold, not displaying any ecm codes, surges at stoplights once in awhile, irratic idle once it get hot..up down 100/200rpm's, rough idle, and gets craip for gas mileage. Changed the tps and idle control valve..no luck. Anyone know where to look next?

p.s The car was in a small accident right before i purchased it as a fixer upper. Front end collision, i replaced bumper and headlights but air bag never went off. Possibly a bad ecu from the impact?

Any suggestions would be awesome!
Thnx Joe

Scan the system and check the reading of the coolant sensor, tps and iac valve. The should be within specs, if not the vehicle will be hunting ( revving up and down). Also try cleaning the throtlebody with a good cleaner. Good Luck.

Specs are available from books like Haynes and Mitchell and I'm sure its available on line too but I havn't looked there. With the vehicle running the tps should be between .54 and.68 volts. Adjustments are possible but it whould be left to a trained tech. Adjusting one item, affects other sensors. Clean the throtlebody for now and see how it goes.
