new to cars.. want to learn more
hey all, I am new to cars and I have taken a very large interest in muscle cars. I have been reading about anything I can find on the internet about them. I would like to learn more however and maybe get some first hand knowledge... I would appreciate anyone who has any input of how I could gain more knowledge to give some input

Hot Rod Magazine, Watch TV (sundays on what used to be TNN)
carcraft.com has some things, get a Haynes repair manual about your car... that helped me!

Work on them, start by doing little things and work your way up to the bigger jobs. Read through the chiltons/haynes or better yet factory repair manuals for your car and every one else you know. You can go to car shows and talk to people. Magizines provide a lot of info as well. Also musclecarclub.com is good.

Join a car club & go to car shows. Both will get you connected with local people whi share your interests.

Its a pretty good site for theory, but nothing will teach you like ripping apart a car with a knowledgable friend and putting everything back together. Gotta get dirty to truly love a car. Thats what seperates a true enthusiast from a BS car guy. When you do the work on your car it really becomes yours, people who've done their own engines up know this feeling. Hell, the first time you replace your own oil or brake pads you get the feeling. Even if the oil change took 3 hours and 2 trips to canadian tire /rolls eyes. Not that it happened to me of course.... (Having an ex-mechanic for a dad sure didn't help 'cause he couldn't stop laughing). http://www.performanceyears.com Under the tech forums, they are Vintage Pontiac guys, probably the best forum for actual gearheads I've found yet (still testing here). They know their stuff and most do all their own work. Great information, probably a bunch of that here too, I'm just new.
