Picked up a game cube today :)

Well I was telling someone here on the board last week that I am always the last to get the latest electronic toys, but I broke that record today and actually got something within a week of its release LOL. I bought a game cube from one of our good friends, still in the box. I got the system, an extra controller and memory card. Now I just need to go get some games. I can't believe how tiny it is....and portable. So when we go to CES in January with our friends we'll have some entertainment when we get tired of walking around

Have you seen this thing?!? It's freaking tiny! It's about as portable as a PS One. (Unless you don't consider a PS One portable)

Hey congrats on getting the new GC. Getting electronics is always cool. But... how will you be able to play your new GC and post on AF on a regular basis?!? Decisions decisions... I guess cloning is the only answer! Hehe

I would think its about as portable as the rest of them. Pop it into its carrying case and take it along. My own preference is for the PSII because I can burn copies of the games and play those so the original stays in great shape.

I'm sure you agree the XBox isn't in this company. That thing is huge no matter how you look at it.

OT: I do the same thing with music. I'm a perfectionist and I'm very anal about scratches on my CD or the case.

So far the 2 games I definitely wanna get are Luigi's Mansion and Super Monkey Ball...my buddy recommended this one, it may be called just Monkey Ball. As for posting on AF and playing games at the same time....easy! My entertainment center is less than 6 feet away from the computer MUAHAHAHAHAA. Please forgive me in advance for any abscence in the next few evenings if I am not PWing away! :hehehe:

Here's another pic to show how tiny this thing is!

I would love to get the LCD screen for it when its available, but we already have a portable DVD player that it can be hooked up to...so I can wait on that for awhile I can't wait to get the games....may not be tonight cuz we have a few other things we need to get out of the way.

Ok, now that I have seen the GC in comparison to the size of your hand (which im taking for granted the photo / size of your hand is fairly realistic?)

I retract my previous statement about its size.It is VERY small

Let me know what your opinion of it is after youve played it for a while. Im going to be saving up for a new system, and they all have there ups and downs.

The pic of my hand is tiny hair smaller then lifesize, but the angle on the system is kinda bad. When I get home later I'll measure it and post dimensions. I don't think it weighs more than a pound.

You've never played it? Come on over, I'll let you play it all day...you're not that far away....

Am I talking in rhyme? Probly just a fluke this time. !! More rhyme! Gimme a dime! Don't make me mime.... Hmm, I hear a chime, must be the clock telling the time. Now I smell a lime...

...

Don't know how to respond to that one...

Ok I just measured the cube. It is 6" wide, 6" deep and 4.25" tall. I put it on the scale. It actually weighs 3.5 pounds but it doesn't feel like it. The box is came in is 9.5" wide and deep and 5.5" tall. Easily carried with one hand
