hey man looks fuckin sweet! but i have one question, the overlay that you've painted white...how the hell do you get that off? did u have to take out the entire cluster? i tried to take mine out, but couldn't figure out how? a how-to would absol. kick ass but just some simple instructions would help! thanks!

Take off the shroud, bout 4 screws I think, and then take out the light brightness dial, and the demister one too. Take out the clear cover and the overlay, these may be glued, open them with a scalpel, spray, replace.

I dont have to paint the needles black, I actually was driving around tonight to see what they looked like, and while I couldnt get any pics, they looked so sick!!! You can see the needles from the blue lights, and they have a blueish tint to them. oh man they look sweet.

Okay, to get the whole cluster out...start with your black denter piece with the light dimmer and cruise control and rear defrost. Two screws will be located on the top of the bezel, if youre looking straight at it, it will look like ones directly above your tach and ones above your speedo, on the "roof" of the hood. Two more screws are down by your steering wheel, one on each side of it. Once you remove those 4 screws, start to remove the black shroud. On the right side, on the back of where your hazards button is, unclip the hazards and move the shroud more over the the right. Its best to have your steering wheel straight for this whole process, as you might be utilizing the larger hole created by the 4g wheel. Shimmying the black shroud more towards the right, get your hand in through the middle of it, and unclip your dimmer switch wire harness. Then on to the cruise control harness(with this one, it tends to stick, so what I do, is push the whole thing through the front, it should pop right through the hole there, and unclip it in the front, then push the harness back through and clip the button back in place. Then on to the final harness, your rear defrost. This should be green, and fairly easy to unclip. Once they are all unclipped, just shimmy the whole thing out of your way. Now, on the back of your cluster "hood", there are two cover lookin things. Take a screwdriver or a small knife and unclip those. They should come right out. In each hole, there is a screw. Be careful not to drop those screws in the hole youre pulling them out of, its impossible to find them when you do...trust me, Ive done it a few times. When you have the screws out, just lift up on the bottom of that hood cover, and slide your screwdriver up the side of it until it pops out.
Now back on the front of your cluster, on each side of your actual cluster, there are two screws apiece. Take out the top ones, and only the top ones. The bottom ones do nothing to help you and are a pain to take out and put back in for no reason. Okay, now...Back up top, on each side of the cluster, there is a screw kind of angled towards the rear of the car. Take those out, and be careful not to drop those either, as they are harder than crap to find as well, if at all. Once those are out, breathe a sigh of relief, as all the screws are finally out of your way. On the back side of the cluster, on the left hand side, there is a long wire harness clipped into the back. Unclip it and move on. Another clip, that should be blue, is in the middle-ish area. Unclip that and move it to the side as best you can. On the right hand side, there is a final wire harness, unclip that and move it away as best you can. Now there is a cylindrical wire type thing that is plugged and clipped in to the back. Mess around with the white clip until it breaks free and pull out the cable. This is your speedo cable, so be careful not to like...light it on fire or anything stupid, as this will damage it..lol. Now that everything is unclipped and unscrewed and whatnot, just wiggle the whole cluster out of the dash.
Now the plastic shield should be glued together so take a knife and pry it apart little by little. On your odometer reset button, there should be a rubber tip in the end of the needle, just pull that off so the shield will come right off. Once its off, turn the whole thing over. There are 5 different locations where the unit is clipped together, three on top and two on the bottom. Undo the tops first, and then work on the bottom. This part may take some time, as they are a pain in the butt on my cluster. Once you unclip those, slide the overlay off of the cluster. On top of the cluster there is a long piece of plastic which holds your two lights that shine on your cluster. There are two wires that run from the overlay I believe to the cluster. Just unscrew the piece of plastic, and remove it and you should be fine.
Well, I think thats it, I hope its detailed enough, but if not, let me know, and I'll help out as much as I can.
