wierd feeling in the front suspension

have a 1998 k1500 z71 w/ 150,000 miles. I have a wierd feeling in the front left suspension, it feels like a dull grinding in the brake pedal at the very last part of braking when coming to a stop. it doesnt happen all the time. i think that if someone else drove my truck they wouldnt notice it. it is not really an audible grinding, but i can feel it through the pedal. i have inspected the brakes and there appears to be no abnormalities. I think that the suspension may just be worn, but i was hoping for another educated opinion.
thanks in advance.

Re: wierd feeling in the front suspension

I think the abs is the culprit on this one. My truck may have the same problem. Sometimes when coming to a hard stop if I hit a pothole or a bump in the road I can here the grinding noise that you are talking about. With a light feel of it in the brake pedal. It also shows up when I am let’s just say off the beaten path and my tires are spinning at a "high rate". When I step on the brake to slow them down it kicks in. I have read about the front abs sensors being the culprit but also the hub bearings. Maybe someone that has fixed this problem will chime in.

Re: wierd feeling in the front suspension

dont think it is the ABS, the feeling is basic and mechanical, and also very subtle. i think of it as braking on a flat but rough road, like old country asphalt road. i could say it is like braking with a very agressive offroad tire tread.
