Do You Like Ratchet Shifters?

Please let me know your likes and dislikes about ratchet shifters. Aren't they just an older version of an F1 paddle shifter?

Thanks

Pekoe

Ratchet

I am buying a Sebring with a Chevy 350 (62 Healey replica). It has a ratchet shifter and was wondering what the likes and dislikes are. I see you have a Midget so I'm prepared for a flaming. I loved my 72 Midget.
