i found a guy selling a 91 civic si.. anyways I gave him a call.. he said the car was in great shape, 180kms.... so today i took a big roadtrip to t.o. .... and there it is, the biggest lemon i've ever seen lol. he was asking $4000, there was rust everywhere, the quarterpanels were completely rotted out. it had a new paintjob like 4 years ago.. and looked like he recently spray painted over the wheelwell. The interior was really nice tho, no rips anywhere.. just really clean, and i was surprised to see an OEM armrest.
as for driving. it was ok, but didnt feel as nice as my DX. i thought about offering him $1800.. but i dunno, it needs way to much bodywork.

Shoulda told me you were coming down...could hung out for a while. Anyways, I had the same problem when looking for a 4th gen in Toronto. Then, I called some guy in Hamilton that ended up having an 89 dx that was in mint condition with VERY VERY MINOR surface rust. It had 177,000km on it when I took it off his hands for $2950.

I wouldn't ever bother checking out a car thats all done up with a swap etc. I always suspect that it's been pinned a ripped the shit out of everyday.

Probably worth checking out the car with the B16. Whats the worst that could happen, the motor blow up shortly after you buy it? (HIGHLY UNLIKLEY) Even if it did, you'd have everything right there to just swap in another B series. You could pick up another 1st gen B16 for like $500, or you could get an LS for like $400 or so, or spend some dough and get a GSR.
![]() I would totally buy a swapped car if the price was right. Just try and make sure he changed the oil every $5000km. ![]() BTW Dirty, for 7Gs you can have my car with the B16 already in it.
