zc or mini me and a mpfi ?

Ok heres the deal. i can get a ( i think its an 89) 89 crx for $500. it just needs an engine. im not sure which one it is but i think its a dx cause its a d15 with a 5 speed. i know it has dpfi. if i were to go the zc route, would i have to change to mpfi and how hard is it to do that. my other question is does anyone have a d16a6 cause i already have a y8 head sitting in my closet i could slap on the engine. or any opinion as to which way i went on the engine choice i think im for sure going to get it though. any help would be much appreciated.

i was thinking of doing minime for a while but your really better off just putting in a sohc vtec than a minime, the performance is very close to a zc. You don't need mpfi for a zc(just ask Melt he's been procrastinating instilation of mpfi on his zc) but you don't get all the performance out of a zc if you leave it w/ dpfi. for more stateside part options go w/ the y8, you could prolly get a block w/out head cheeper.

i would go zc just cuse it's wierd and i like to own the unusual or rare, that and it was oem on the jdm civic, i think that's nifty.

zc has a tad more torque, but y8 has vtec, you make the call.

(preitty sure about all of this, i know i'm no expert, correct me if i'm misinformed)

buy a zc trannie if it's gonna be a daily driver, if your gonna race it buy a zc trannie and swap the final drive gear (5th) from the si it's better geared, the zc's 5th gear is made for highway cruzin.

here are some sights to buy engines from:
http://www.evanshondaspecialist.com
http://www.hasport.com/Main%20Menu%2...ns/Dealers.htm

for the priciey version go evans. i know they are very well established and they will give you a shitload of info about the car your engine came out of if it came out of one.

you don't have to, it just works better. and the more power you use, the more you will have to worry about breaking the axels.

all d seriese axels have the same inside splindle, it only works better to put integra axels, if it's a dx than i wouldn't worry cause dx axels are the same as si axels. just use your stock axels dude if it's a d seriese trannie, it will work w/ your current axels so will the sohc vtec.
