From what I've read so far, seems a cold air intake and a better muffler would be some fairly inexpensive and easy mods to put on your Del Sol which would help out. If you have the money at some point, a better header would also be a good idea.

There's a lot of good info at www.teamdelsol.com that could be of use to you.

A good idea is to look long term at where you want your car to be. Is it style or performance you want? If it is performance the first thing you need to do is get that girl breathing so buy a good intake. Then save up and buy a full cat back system and header.

Liability only is your friend. My insurance under liability only would be like $60/month for an 18 year old girl with 1 point on my license and a red sports car. Not too bad. Luckily it's registered with my parents, and my dad pays for me to be full coverage. As for starter stuff... depends on where you wanna go.. but my advice is to save up for big stuff and go ahead and get it outta the way.. then the little stuff seems easy.

I got a quote for about $375 a month for full coverage for mine. I'm 23 with a spotless driving record and on my own policy. That was with Allstate though.

Think I'm gonna give State Farm a shot and see how much lower a policy with them is.

Don't get your coverage through american family. I pay 240 a month for full coverage and i have 3 discounts and no record. If any one knows a good company with low rates let us know.

State Farm was the lowest I found. Try calling Progressive.. they're pricey, but they actually do tell you if someone comes out lower (They told me that State Farm would be lower... son of a gun! They were right!).
