Installin Clutch Cover?
Hi,
I took off my old clutch and clutch cover off of my old D15 and attempted to put it on my D16A6. The problem is the bolts dont match anymore even on the old D15 engine. I know they are the same cause the tranny bolts right up to it? will I need a special tool? Thanks Owen

Are you using the same flywheel? or the one on the other engine. If it's not the same (right) flywheel then it may not line up. You may have to pull the other flywheel off and use it on the D16.

What the hell is a clutch cover?
Are you talking about the pressure plate? It only bolts up on way, so keep turning it again and again until all the holes line up.

Yea sorry I mean the pressure plate that goes over the clutch disc.
Somebody told me I will need a clutch alignment tool to align the bolts correctly?

You need a clutch alignment tool - but if it's a 1.5l pressure plate I don't think that it will work on a 1.6l fly wheel.

I think all the pressure plates and clutches will fit any of the trannies. However there might be some small differences. For one I know 88 had 21 spline clutch and 89-91 had 20 splines. I think 88 had the smallest clutch, then 89 slightly bigger, then 90-91 the biggest. I assume the pressure plates would be bigger for the bigger clutch. I think you can use the big clutches as long as you get the same pressure plate.

Well my old engine is a 90 LX D15 and The new one is a 90 CRX SI engine. They should match up correct? With a clutch alignment tool.
