H23 Dohc Vtec Blue Valve Cover?

I am about to purchase a motor that has the block code of H23, nothing else. Comes with LSD 5-speed transmission. And also comes with a mysterious blue valve cover that i've never seen in my life. The shop owner selling the motors claims it comes stock with 250hp at crank and was used in some performance models of accords and preludes. Give me some insight please before I can purchase this motor.

i would NOT get it cuz a lot of people had problems doing that H22/23 swap. so i would not recommend getting it. it would be a very nice setup if you do it right but you have no idea who did that setup so i wouldn't even buy it....

Thanks for the info. 93accordEX. I just did some research on what you said and indeed only comes with 200hp. It comes on some accord sedans and station wagons. Looks like the shop owner was wrong. I'll just stick to what I have right now which is JDM typeR.

What you have is an H23 block with H22 head...

The blue valve cover (if stock) comes out of the Accord SIR (Japan) and makes 220hp @ the crank. With the slightly larger bore, id guess youd be making an extra 10hp...

Just be carefull when buying, make sure the shit actually runs and isnt leaking or burning oil etc. etc. etc.

oh that's what you were talking about. Well both motors come with just about 200 horses. so i figured since the H23A motor is dropped in a car about 1000lbs. heavier than mine, it would haul butt if I put it in my DC chassis. As for my motor, I can take a picture and post it in couple of hours for you to see.

seriously, I don't know too much about the new H23 vtec motor. it was newly developed in 2000 and only put in SiR accords and Turenos. I know only that if I threw one in my car, it would rip the chassis in half because of the abundance of torque. (I'm not too big of a fan on torque). I've already made my decision on the motor and I'm gonna build up a B20.
