Trailer Wiring Question

The factory-provided wiring harness has a heavy gauge blue wire for that is supposded to be for the after-market brake controller, and an orange one that is supposed to be a 30 amp hot wire for trailer accessories. I want the hot wire for charging the battery on my trailer while driving. My questions are:

Where does the blue brake controller wire terminate up front? How do I find it to hook it to the unit?

Where does the orange wire terminate? I put a meter on it and there is no voltage so it must not be connected to the battery yet? How do I locate it?

Many thanks!

The blue and orange wires are located in the engine compartment under the brake booster. Drill a hole through the firewall and run that blue wire to your brake controller. The orange wire hooks up to a 30 amp accessory post under a black plastic cover on the drivers side under the hood. I used a ford starter solenoid to send power to the orange wire only when the ignition is on. The 30 amp accessory post is hot all the time, so having your trailer hooked up overnight may kill your suburban battery if you have any accessories on in your trailer without your engine running. You will also need to run a hot wire to your brake controller to supply power to the trailer brake controller. There are two 30 amp fused posts so you can use the 2nd one for that power supply. Hope this works well for you!
