can anyone tell me how the system restarts the engine after shuts down for short time (at a light)? GM vehicle.

Does that mean there is one starter that restarts the engine ? I was told there was another within the trans.and its thats why it restarts so quickly.

Not true, only 2 batteries, not starters, bad info.

Are you telling me that there are batteries or does the starter itself has a doul function,can you explain?

Yes, 2 batteries, mine has an auxiliary in the trunk. Just Google auto stop/start function, plenty of info in detail.

Thanks, Max after doing the research I think mine is using TDC theory and if there is a second battery it will be used for the stop time and not help with restart,just my way of thinking but I'm only guessing. I forgot to mention its a 2019 EQUINOX

Yes the second battery is only to keep alive ongoing functions, not the restart.
