Live diagnostic tools for bucking 2001 Corolla

Is the 2001 Corolla diagnostic data port made for OBD1 or OBD2? (Japanese cars didn't jump to OBD2 like other makes when that protocol was implemented). Are there any recommended diagnostic laptop programs that could monitor the performance live while driving and produce a log of any problems?

I have a hard-to-diagnose intermittent problem that doesn't leave any codes right after bucking (momentary loss and then resumption of power) occurs during a drive, when I've cleared all the codes beforehand.

I'm not sure if a Corolla this old would be able to collect accurate information and transmit it to modern diagnostic programs like Laplog, PCMScan, etc., but that's about the only way I can think of narrowing down the troubleshooting unless this year Corolla just isn't set up to yield system specifics. Thanks for any help.
