possibly buying 93 240sx with sr20det, what to look for?

hey, i know a guy whos selling a completely built 240sx in my area. its a 93 and its got a fully built sr20det. im talking cams gears springs retainers rings etc. i wanna go check it out, but how would you go about checking to see if those parts are really there without completely disassembling the motor? i figured i can just take off the valve cover to see inside for the first part. never worked on a nissan, so is the sr20det cover easily and quickly accessible? what should i look for to be able to tell all these things. what about turbo damage, or any signs of serious damage?
