temp gauge and no AC

hi all I am having a problem with our 2014 traverse , when you start up the temp gauge begins to climb like normal then gets to running temp (210) with he AC on or off it drops back down to (160) and AC goes dead

any and all ideas would be very helpful

thanks

Re: temp gauge and no AC

Bad temp sensor. The ECU thinks you are overheating when it kicks out so it kills the AC to prevent further overheating.
