side axle play
My 2011 gmc 1500 has the famous side axle clunk as I am told,I checked today for the amount of play in the actual side axles and the drivers side is hardly noticeable but the passenger side there is quite a bit.Is this normal to have different amounts in each side or should I be looking at getting the pin and c-clips replaced?

Re: side axle play
I would get a spec for axle end play and see if is out or range, the axle groove could be worn or the clip is worn or both.

Re: side axle play
to update my post I recently had a 2" lift installed in the rear with new shocks and I haven't heard the clunking since.I checked the bushings while everything was apart and didn't see anything wrong, the u-bolts were tight.Only thing I can think it could be was the shocks.
