Rack and pinion Boot

I need help. I have a 96 Honda Civic LX. I replace the rack and pinion boots on both sides of the car. Replaced the right passenger side first then the left driver side. The boot on the right side is vented but after replacing the boot on the left side I noticed the boot does not have a vent hole / tube for the vent line to connect to. will it hurt to run the car with an unvented boot on the left side? I have already went through three boots before getting one that would fit over the rack and pinion large end and I hate to try to find another one that has this vent hole / tube, in / on it that will fit.
