Subaru Impreza 555 WRX

Inspired by the latest report on a completed Subaru Impreza 555 by Generationx
http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul....php?t=1151527
I want to show you my interpretation of this car built some years ago from the same kit.

At first I want to agree with Generationx - yes, it is a great kit which they did then. You can build it oob and you will get a great and realistic model with many details. But as always, I did some extra finish.

I had bought Hasegawa kit no. 25063, Acropolis Rally Winner, because I wanted to build just this car driven by Carlos Sainz. Unfortunately the decal sheet in the kit is wrong for this version: There are only some yellow "crescents", which are right for RAC Rally for example, but for many other versions / rallyes you need "555" stickers. 555 was Subaru's sponsor in those days. So I bought some decal sheets made by Carpena („Different Marks for Subaru Rally“), which I used for my model.

Next thing was the missing sun protection film which was used in rallying in countries like Greece since early nineties. Some years ago I had got some of those foils by Tamiya (mamy thanks), so I could use one of them here for my Impreza.

And because I wanted to build my model "in action", with driver / codriver figures inside, there was the need for better (bigger) seats in realistic size. Hasegawa's rally seat is the same for many models - and it is too small for the average european driver (maybe it fits for japanese people?). So the seats were replaced by those from Tamiya's Ford Escort Cosworth (thanks again to Tamiya...).

So here are some pictures:

Hope you enjoy it.
As always: comments are welcome.

Regards
Stefan
