2008 Chevy Uplander

Got a check engine light 2 days ago. Got a scanner to pull codes. Prior to pulling codes, wife had a no start at the gas station. Cranked, acted like it wanted to start but nothing. Finally, held throttle down and started. Fine every since. Pulled codes and got P0496. Evap system purge flow. Can't see that causing a no start. Gonna start w/ fuel pump. Anyone know operating fuel psi. 3.9 w/ no flex fuel. Thanks in advance.

Holding the throttle down while starting on a fuel injected vehicle actually shuts injectors off, so if it started after she held the throttle then it was flooded for one reason or another.

Yes, a purge valve can and will cause a no start after fuel fill. Stuck open will push fuel vapors into the intake, flooding it. Replace the purge valve. I'v seen this before.

I had an issue with our 06 not starting unless you stepped on the gas pedal slightly and it turned out to be carbon buildup in the throttle body where the butterfly seals. some 2+2 fixed it right up no more starting problems
