Help!!! Interior
Hello guys and gals, this is my first time posting but I've had my jeep for 2 years. It's a 99 grand cherokee limited edition straight 6. My issue as of now is my sunroof won't close. It had been temperamental before but was working great then I opened it one day and hit a bump and heard a click like sound and it won't close now. My cousin (who was a mechanic for a few years) and I did some tests on it and found that the switch wasn't getting power but when we bypassed the relay it still wouldn't close.
I don't want to get it working again I just want it to close. I read that the only way to do so was to remove the interior and disconnect it from the motor and manually close it. I can do that but was wanting to know what tricks or tips or you guys know and if you know any sites I can find proper wiring diagrams for the sunroof and the rest of the interior. My cousin also mentioned that perhaps the control module was going out. He thought this because I also have issues with my temps true doors and speakers go in and out as well as the rear windows don't always go down. They always go back up but at times act like they aren't receiving the demand from my drivor switch. Didn't know if that is a possible cause as well with the switch for the sunroof not getting power. Side note: we checked the sunroof relay and it is working. And while I am taking the interior out I plan to take it all out and properly fix my heat/ac, tweeter speakers and horn. If there is any other advice or diagrams on that I will greatly appreciate it. I have the Haynes manual so I do have some diagrams but not all and they aren't the best. Thanks all!!! |
