Have a 05 Impala. When turning to the right I have a grinding noise. I replaced the left side bearing knowing that should be the bearing that is bad and still am having the noise. I swapped out the old bearing from the left with the one on the right and still had the noise so i switched back. I still believe the left side was bad at the start. Is the car playing tricks and confusing me on which side was bad? CV shafts aren't really known for grinding correct? More of a clicking sound from what I remember

Re: Grinding noise when turning
CV's can grind if they get bad enough. Rear bearings can also go bad and cause noises.

Re: Grinding noise when turning
Crap, the rears never crossed my mind. I hate trying to figure out where noises are coming from because they are just hard to pinpoint. Definitey sounds like it is coming from front but could be throwing me for a loop
