Help with anti theft device!?!?

My '04 started needing a jump to get it going. 2 days later it completely died on me. I was told it was the starter. New starter was put in and still nothing. Now im being told its the anti theft in the car. Tomorrow i get more info from the mechanic but im wondering how does that affect my car?? Ive had it for about 6 years and never ran into that. Plus, does anyone have an idea on how much it would cost to fix?

Re: Help with anti theft device!?!?

Welcome to the forum!

Let's start by finding out what model year your Explorer is. Also, does the Theft/Security light flash rapidly when you try to start the truck? If you turn the key to the Start position with the headlights on, do the headlights dim noticeably? Have you checked the battery connections at the battery to make sure they are clean and tight?

Do you have a multimeter to be able to take some voltage measurements?
