Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X

I'm back guys!

My first project is the Aoshima Lancer Evo X with Hobby Design PE set. Lovely kit btw!

I like the original wheels but not on this car. I replaced them for Volk Racing RE30's:

I chosed Rotor Glow for the body. It's an original color for the Evo X, but still pretty rare I think.

First I removed the plastic vents in the hood. I replaced them with PE ones.

Primed and painted:

Zero 2K Clear:

Meanwhile the paint is polished and is waiting for the windowtrims.

Kris.

Re: Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X

nice color combo! yeah that sure is a rare color for the evoX. pardon my ignorance though - the PE hood vents, i assume this is in multiple pcs that you still had to assemble and not a 1-pc affair?

Yes the PE vents are multiple pieces. It's way better compared to the plastic molded vents.

Re: Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X

The Evo received the black bodyparts, and windows. I also added the PE frontgrille and trim. It didn't fitt very good but it still looks ok to me.

I also finished the interior. I used a red/black combination with a few BMF and PE parts.

Re: Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X

nice update! one thing that bugged me with the aoshima evoX - even with optional LHD parts (for some anyway), it still had the molded-in footrest for the RHD config. oh well, it's something easy to remedy anyway

Re: Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X

it might not have been as successful as its predecessors but I really like the styling of the X.
you see them occasionally here in the UK and I always look twice.

I think I spotted an engine kit for this one so I've been collecting images for another long build....

Re: Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X

I added seatbelts into the interior. It's done now!

I also finished the PE brakediscs.

Then I started on the chassis. I kept it simple and added a bit wheatering.

I added a red trim around the wheels. It's not boring grey anymore

Also finished the body.

Meanwhile it's finished, so I'll upload the photos of the completed model.

Kris.
