VW GTI MkI US Wheels

I have the Revell Germany kit of the Mk I GTI, and am planning on building it as the US version (we owned a 1983 GTI, one of our favorite cars). I can see that the bumpers, front bodywork and grille will need some work, but the most visible difference is the wheels. I thought I saw a reference somewhere online about somebody making those wheels, but I can't remember where. Does anyone know of a possible source or have any other suggestions?

Re: VW GTI MkI US Wheels

I cant help you with the wheels, but for the bumpers, the Rabbit kit has them, that would save you the time with trying to convert the Golf's bumpers to US Spec

Re: VW GTI MkI US Wheels

Thanks for the help, guys. I thought Scale Production might be working on the wheels, and it looks like they are. Here's a picture of the snowflake wheels I'm interested in. The bumpers from the Golf kit should help, too.

Re: VW GTI MkI US Wheels

I did a little more research, and unfortunately it looks like the Revell kit bumpers won't be much help, either. See the attached pics. They shouldn't be that difficult to scratch build.
