'05 suburban ac issues

Hello everyone. I have a 2005 chevy suburban. It has the dual automatic climate controls. I'm having 2 separate issues with the ac.
1. Sometimes with the air on the ac turns to heat on driver side and stays cold on the passenger side and vice versa. (All controls on coldest settings)
2. Also sometimes the blower motor will blow on high when set to highest speed, then just quit and not work on any settings. Anyone have these issues? Thanks in advance for any information.

Re: '05 suburban ac issues

A/c to heat- sounds like a runaway actuator on driver's side- next time watch the actuator on driver's side above gas pedal- see what it is doing.

Blower motor stopping sound like a "hot spot" in blower motor connector at the blower motor resistor module- on passenger side, behind glove box, unplug blower motor module connector (6 wires as I recall) chances are the black wire connector (ground) has a burnt/arching terminal connection, that has melted the plastic plug somewhat. Proper fix (if all above applies) is to replace blower module connector and blower motor resistor module, or to simply create bypass for the black wire.

To test for above, (because it will probably be working when you look at it) is to wiggle the connector(s) - see if blower stops and starts as you "bother" the connectors.

drop the behind glove box blower motor and resistors .. your vehicle has a GM defective connector there.. you will see burnt wires/connector..

the temperature is controlled by stepper motors.. one on each side with your dual control. these can stick/bind.. I used some washers very small thin , to make some space so the assy sets off the vent box a small amount. It can also be internal debris in the air box.
