'06 LT Aftermarket Stereo

I went to Best Buy thinking I was just going to walk in and buy a nice Double Din stereo for my 2006 Chevy Malibu (totally willing to compromise the loss of the DIC) I just want music. Then an associate tells me all this stuff I need with it (harness, antenna adapter etc) he said I need all of the extra stuff because of the anti theft system. But if don't care about the DIC, can I not just install it like a normal stereo? If not, what EXACTLY do I need? (Just want the music) Thanks!!

I think you're stuck with the OEM radio. Others have tried swapping it out, only to discover that many more vehicle functions are linked to the original radio because of the DIC. Lose the DIC and you lose the car. Being able to drive it anyway. Don't waste your money.
