Jerking while driving

I have a sand rail with a VW engine(turbo). In any gear it drives fine below 2k rpm. When it gets above this it starts jerking. To the point of sub-second,mini peel outs. Is this a distributor issue?

Re: Jerking while driving

It sounds like it could be ignition related.
