problem removing crankshaft position sensor HELP PLEASE

So my husband has been trying all day to get the old crankshaft sensor out but the screws will NOT move. They are now stripped and so he got a tool that is supposed to fit over stipped screws and that didn't work either. He's tried wd40 and a drill (supposedly you usually don't need one). We are at our wits end. We have a mechanic coming tomorrow but really don't want to shell out the $95 he is going to charge only to be told he can't get it either. Anyone know how to pry that thing out?
