Hi people
I recently discovered this forum thanks to Google while looking for reference for a McLaren MP4/13 I'm planning to build next. Anyways, I figured I'd show my builds here. Here's the first one I build, did it about 2 years ago. I've been an Indycar and Formula 1 fan since 1993, and after years of building aircraft, I figured the time was right to start building cars. First one I bought was a Williams FW16 but Didn't want to learn with it, so queue the 1998 Reynards. Reynard 98K This one I added only decals, and learning to master painting Cars, after years of building airplanes mostly... ![]() Ferrari 189. Nothing fancy, nothing extra, just an easy Out of the Box build, learning experience. ![]() ![]() Then came Ayrton Senna's Williams FW16. This one I added everyt aftermarket thing I could find - Photoetch parts, decals, wiring, etc. VERY proud of this one. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Next was Lewis Hamilton's MP4/25. This one being smaller scale, meant no engine detail. This car instead of paint I foiled it in Aluminum foil, and polished using Mother's cream. The results are impressive. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() After that, came Jacques Villeneuve's 1997 Williams FW19. Again, no extra detail on this one. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Then came my latest, Ayrton Senna's McLaren MP4/8. This one I also added everything I possibly Could. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Currently Working on: ![]() Thanks for watching, and hope you like them. Take Care Thanks!! |

Re: New to forums, my Car builds
I've always have had the greatest respect for airplane builders as you often are very skilled - something that is visible in your builds. The Lewis Hamilton ride with the aluminum foil is outstanding!!

Re: New to forums, my Car builds
Yeah, +1 on the foil tutorial, that looks fantastic. I feel that if I tried that the foil and model would be quickly launched across the room.
