1996 buick regal gs
what should I do?? I ran my car out of gas and I heard A POP SOUND WHEN THIS HAPPENED.. got gas and car will not start . got new fuel pump and filter.. checked fuses.. no start still.. also tried turning key off and on cuz it ran out of gas.. all it does it sounds like it is starting but it doesn't start. my friend hooked it up to a diagnostic machine and it said misfire dectected on number five... I am not a mechanic by all means.. cant afford to take it to shop.. and ideas I could try?

So it cranks, but won't start?
Tried starting with MAF disconnected? Check vac line to fuel pressure regulator for gas? Check for fuel pressure with a gauge? Check for spark on all cylinders? Check for injector pulse with a noid light? Check compression? Was vehicle losing coolant?
