05' Escape dies after stopping???
My 2005 Escape has developed a problem here lately, in that it dies when I come to a stop. It reminds me of stopping a standard transmission vehicle without pushing the clutch in. It does not do this every time but it's pretty often. It will start right back up and will sit and idle but every now and then, it will die when I accelerate from a stand still. I've taken it to my mechanic and one said he thought the torque converter locked up, and another thought it might be a fuel filter. He changed the filter and it helped only a little. Seems to me if the torque converter was locked up, it would happen every time. Has anyone heard of such a problem before? Thanks.
