97 PA Dash + TempControl + Radio lights dim intermittently
I know it is not due to outside temps (does this in winter and summer). I know it is not associated with the dimmer switch as the interior lights do come on when maxed on the dimmer switch or door opens. I have noticed that when the display shows the trip odometer readings that the display will be normal and then flash dim and back to normal several times per minute.

Bad connection in the alternator or elsewhere?

Re: 97 PA Dash + TempControl + Radio lights dim intermittently
I want to take that back......if it was your alternator, your headlights would do the same thing.....it's obviously the dimmer circuit......also, your voltage gauge would be doing wild swings too....
Your interior lamp control has a rheostat in it...this is the input to the remote dimmer module, which is the source of your variable voltage for your lights in the panels...bad rheostat, bad dimmer module, bad connection anywhere in the circuit can cause the problem.... Basically, you have to back probe the input and output of the dimmer module while you move the dimmer switch, to see which is causing the problem...... |
