Question Front Seat Legroom: 740I or 740IL

I'm in the market for a 98 or 99 7 Series. My question to those with experience... which model has more front legroom (driver seat), the I or IL? I am 6'3" and the more legroom I have, the better. I know th IL has more rear legroom, but I am particularily interested in the driver seat. From what I've read, the I has about 3 inches more front legroom than the IL...is this correct?

Thanks for your response in advance.
