1/24 Porsche 935/78 "Moby Dick"

Hello,

After a long time assembling F1 models in 1/20 scale, I tried something little bit different, a Group 5 car. Actually I have a big collection of model boxes of Gr.5 and Rally cars, especially Gr.B extreme machines.

This is the second non Formula car model that I am built, the first one was a Ford Sierra RS500 Enggenberger.

This Tamiya Porsche 935/78 1/24 that I built is the last re-edition, Cartograf Decals and steel wire antenna are provided with the kit.

I painted the body with automotive PU paint Pure White from Dupont. Automotive . PU clearcoat was applied over the body after the decals application.

To reproduce the headlamp deflectors and wheel rim, I applied Mirra Chrome, from House of Colors. All other paints are from Tamiya acrylic and Enamel and Testors enamel.

To paint the wheelīs hubcaps was applied Tamiya Polycarbonate fluorecent red PS-20 o, sealed by Automotive PU clearcoat from Dupont.

This is an almost OOB assembly, except for:
Studio 27 Photo Etched set,
Modelerīs windshield wiper Photo Etched,
T2M air valves
Modelerīs Kevlar Decal that was applied on the back of drivers seat.

Feel free to comment.

Excellent - one of the first Tamiya kits I built (in the 70s!) so holds special memories for me.

Hi rgriffs,

If you agree, I can check the availability of original Tamiya Moby Dick decal at local model store, near my house. They keep a wide range of Spare Tamiya Decal.

Best Regards.
